NHS Lewisham - Maternity
The home birthing unit at University Hospital Lewisham was specially designed with the purpose of helping expectant mothers to give birth in a relaxed home environment through the clever use of furnishings and colours and yet still retain the benefits of being at hospital with emergency support on hand if required.
The ability to house a Resuscitaire unit successfully out of sight and behind doors that matched the room furnishings helped to achieve this goal. Standard Systemed HTM71 270 degree hinges used on the cabinet complex enable the doors to open completely out of the way without any restriction to provide full access to the Resuscitaire equipment when required.
Matching wood effect sink base units with Systemed S200 marine ply core and moulded Corian sinkbowls with waterfall edges provide a durable and attractive hand washing facility.
The end result has been very successful.
